How long does therapy last?

This is based on your individual needs, challenges and goals. You and your therapist will collaborate on a treatment plan that feels right for you. Length of therapy can also be reevaluated throughout the therapeutic process to make sure it continues to feel right for you.

Am I ready for counseling?

Everyone deserves healing and the chance to live their best life. If you need to heal from a recent or past event or if you want to see change within yourself or in your life, you could greatly benefit from counseling.

You may know what the change you want to see is, and that is great. But you may not know yet. Something just isn’t right. You just know something must change for you to find happiness or peace. It’s okay not to know—you can figure that out through exploration and collaboration with your therapist. Just show up and take it from there.

Insurance & Payment SUpport?

1. We accept debit and credit cards and HSA cards through the online client portal.

2. We can provide you with a bill to submit for possible reimbursement (depending on insurance carrier policy). To use out of network benefits, you will need to verify coverage with your insurance carrier. Be sure to ask the following questions:

·       Does my plan cover out of network providers?

·       What is my out of network deductible and have I met it yet this year?

·       Will you cover services by an associate level clinician?

·       What is the out of network reimbursement rate for the CPT code 90837?

3. We offer a set number of sliding scale fees on a first come first serve basis. We reserve a limited number of spaces for either 30% or 50% off sessions.

What is online therapy?

Online therapy is talk therapy over video chat or telephone. Online therapy is a lot like therapy conducted in person. Before your first appointment you will receive a link that will take you to your individual therapist’s virtual waiting room. Online therapy can accommodate traditionally in-person techniques and modalities of therapy easily, such as the use of workbooks and other homework, mindfulness training, art therapy, and somatic therapies.

Teletherapy uses HIPAA compliant and encrypted telehealth software that meets or exceeds the Federal and WA state telehealth guidelines.

Why does Sky use telehealth instead of in person therapy?

Telehealth or teletherapy provides flexibility and ease of access. If you have a busy schedule or experience other barriers to making it into an office regularly for services, teletherapy may be the ideal option for you. Or perhaps you just prefer to access therapy from the comfort of your own home.

Therapy in any form is reliant on the client/therapist relationship. Though the medium is different, the relationship can still thrive, and the therapeutic process can still be effective.

What are the benefits of private pay therapy?

Sky is considered out of network for all insurance plans for mental health services. With Private Pay therapy, the priority is your care and your needs versus your insurance requirements and their needs.

Your confidentiality is more protected with private pay, as insurance companies have access to your therapist’s notes which contain your private health information.

Additionally, your therapist is not required to give you a diagnosis, but insurance companies require one. Sometimes a diagnosis can be helpful for you, and we have the flexibility to decide that, rather than letting an insurance company decide. At Sky, we prefer to focus on your strengths and create a treatment plan based on your needs alone and not let an insurance company dictate your treatment.
