Leslie Orr ma, lmhC, sudpt

Hi, I’m Leslie, and I’m happy you’re here. There is no one size fits all method of treatment, that’s why I use an integrated approach in my practice that is centered around you. My approach is flexible and draws from Mindfulness, DBT/CBT, Attachment, EMDR and trauma informed care in combination with your individual needs, personality and culture.

My clients feel seen, heard, understood, accepted—and not judged. I have the capacity to hold your pain and sit with you, so you can find healing. There are deep emotional sessions, but there are also sessions filled with light heartedness and laughs. I don’t presume to know everything. I do have training and expertise in the field of psychology, but you are the expert of your life and I’m sure to learn as much from you as you may learn in therapy. The work done in therapy is a collaboration.

MY THERAPY APPROACH

My training has been focused on using a systemic lens. Even though I work with individuals, we are all embedded within multiple systems that effect our mental heath and how we interact with others. These systems include:

Body, Family, and Society.

This approach is also referred to as a biopsychosocial-spiritual lens, which focuses on you as a whole person. It addresses biological components and physical heath, emotional and psychological health, social interactions, and spiritual health, and acknowledges how each is connected and effects the other.

body system.

Systems within your body, such as your nervous system, and how they impact mental health, stress, and anger.

Family systems.

How your attachment and upbringing impacts your present relationships and parenting style.

Societal systems.

Such as racism, sexism, class, gender, power and oppression and how these systems affect your health and your access to care and healing.
